Dear Parents,

Thank you for your support during the 1992-93 YMCA Youth Basketball season. Enclosed is the team picture we took in January. I hoped to write to you sooner, but I started coaching another basketball team, and between that and some business trips to the Lower 48, things have been very busy.

The purpose of this letter is two-fold. One, obviously, is to get the pictures out. The second is to let you know that I plan to coach in the YMCA program again next year and that I sincerely hope your son will be on my team. As a coach, I consider returning players to be a big advantage. Its much easier to use the previous year as a building block and move on to new things instead of starting all over again.

Because our 4th graders were so successful last year, I would like to enter them as a team in the competitive league for 5th and 6th graders. This program offers a freer, more advanced game that may prove more beneficial for our players and will certainly be more challenging. My 7th/8th grade team was also very successful, but we will only have 4 players returning. The rest were 8th graders this past season. We will probably run that group in same fashion as last year.

If you would like your child to continue with me next year, all you have to do is indicate your desire on the registration form (mention my name) and the Y will place him on my team. If you do not state a preference, then your son will be selected at random from the common pool of names.

If you have any questions, please call. My home number is 337-1664. I'll be busy with softball and baseball all summer, but hopefully will have time to shoot some hoops with my boys as well. I would enjoy seeing you out and about this summer.

Have fun,

Steve Jordan
