Bjorn and Korrine Enjoy Alaska Summer Vacation

Bj and Korrine came up to Alaska in late May. The main even, of course, was Melanie and Karl's wedding. But we were so happy that they were able to stay and visit for several days. They had time to play frisbee golf and explore the Eklutna area (but we'll let them tell you about that) Our big adventure was taking the 26 Glacier cruise which departs from Whittier daily throughout the summer. Only thing was ... it wasn't a typical summer day in Whittier. We basked in balmy 70 degree sunshine and clear blue skies. It was an experience of a lifetime. Hopefully, one day I can post all of our pictures for you on our home page.

Mom and Dad pose with Bjorn, Korrine and Brett while the party is going on in the backyard. Little did we know this would be the last of our wonderful weather for the next two months. Minutes later we were visited by Adam and Cedrick and we suddenly realized most of our old Flames basketball team from about 12 years ago was together again. But can they still play?

Real Proud of Brett - Again!

Brett isn't coaching this year. He has landed a very good job with Udelhoven Oilfield Services, a respected firm in Alaska that provides contract labor on the North Slope and in Anchorage. Brett's job is in the documentation and records area where he puts his experience from UAA to good use scanning and indexing engineering drawing for the company that employs me - ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. He is making great money and has a new place to live near us in East Anchorage.
